Arlo’s Signature/Logo

Year
2025

After shifting his focus as an independent artist to sculpture making, inspired strongly by the Medieval Revival, Arlo created a new logo that better matched his developing style.

His previous logo featured a simple, stamp-inspired design that referenced his work in printmaking and traditional illustration. The new logo, while maintaining the same simplicity, has a different appearance. It establishes a clear connection to his name and captures the essence of his more traditional artistic work.

To keep it simple, Arlo wanted to focus the design around just the first letter of his name. Informed by his academic study of medieval art history, Arlo’s new design is intended to resemble the first letters of an illuminated manuscript.

The first letter of a manuscript is typically large and elaborately decorated. Arlo examined various shapes and elements found in different manuscripts to identify details that he'd incorporate into his own letter. His final design featured these elements in a sharp, clean-lined style that reflected his inspirations, evolving artistic style, and work in digital design.
