This month, we weren’t able to produce a regular episode. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we had to postpone our planned episode talking about the series finale of The Disabled Tyrant’s Beloved Pet Fish. We will be talking about Volume 4 in next month’s episode.

It always comes back to Sk8 the Infinity

Sk8 the Infinity is a significant part of Arlo’s body of fan art and the series to which he has dedicated much of his online content. With the release of the new OVA, it is at the forefront of his mind as he engages with fan content and creates new artwork. Due to the erratic and ongoing changes in tariffs on goods from China, where he manufactures all his acrylic art and bookmarks, he has not officially decided what to do with this new art beyond sharing it on his social media. For now, you can view his work on Bluesky and Tumblr.

Sk8 the Infinity is not only the focus of Arlo’s new art; it also came up during the last book discussion with Pa Ying. They ventured down a rabbit hole, shifting from discussing the aggressive and tense romantic dynamic between Yan Wushi and Shen Qiao in Vol 3 to another couple characterized by intense aggression and romantic intimacy, Matchablossom. That conversation is the feature of the new bonus episode.

We’re half a year into this project!

As we prepared this newsletter, wanting to pull together some highlights from this series, we realized that we’ve released six episodes—that’s exactly half a year!

We’ve been working through two series. We’ll finish The Disabled Tyrant’s Beloved Pet Fish in the next episode and start another series immediately after. We’ve updated the reading list and calendar to reflect the shifted episodes, moving our planned April release to next month. We also added some more books. As of now, we have three new series slotted before the end of the year: Legend of Exorcism, You’ve Got Mail: The Perils of Pigeon Post, and My Husband and I Sleep in a Coffin.

So far, we’ve been reading through The Disabled Tyrant’s Beloved Pet Fish and Thousand Autumns.
