#17 - We tried. We don’t like him.

This month, we read Legend of Exorcism Vol. 4.

We have previously discussed some of our frustrations with Li Jinglong and his developing relationship with Hongjun. In this volume, that relationship was center stage. This volume teases major plot developments for the rest of the Department of Exorcism, but nothing so substantial as to pull focus from the main couple.

While we are excited to learn more about Qiu Yongsi, see Lu Xu and Mergen’s romance bloom, and watch A-Tai continue to move towards rebuilding his kingdom, we are stuck focusing on the parts of this story we are not so fond of in this volume.

So, this episode is more critical than some of our other episodes. We promise this is a unique case, and future discussions will focus less on our distaste for Li Jinglong’s behavior and more on everything else.

A couple of months ago, we began to pull back on the supplementary content we create for this podcast. Admittedly, we also fell behind on posting to our social media channels, and it’s been challenging to return to our previous routine. After some reflection, we realized that part of our struggle lies in how we think about and create that content.
